About

This multi-phase, 54,000-square-foot design-build project for the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) represents a strategic investment in both operational efficiency and patient care. The initiative included the development of a secure mail-order pharmacy and the comprehensive renovation of a behavioral health clinic, each tailored to meet the evolving needs of the organization and the community it serves.

Mail-Order Pharmacy – 9,000 SF

Located on the ground floor of a newly renovated office building, the pharmacy was designed to support high-volume prescription fulfillment while maintaining strict regulatory compliance and security. The space features Parata Max 2 high-speed robotic dispensing units integrated with a conveyor system, enabling streamlined, accurate processing with minimal manual handling. Custom casework by R.C. Smith supports ergonomic packing stations, functional workspaces, and private offices for pharmacy and administrative staff.

To meet Board of Pharmacy standards, the facility includes advanced environmental controls with primary and backup compressors, ensuring consistent temperature and humidity regulation. Emergency power systems safeguard critical operations during outages, preserving medication integrity. For security, all exterior windows were enclosed, with a narrow band of daylight preserved to enhance staff well-being without compromising confidentiality.

Behavioral Health Clinic – 45,000 SF

The clinic renovation focused on consolidating eight previously separate departments into a single, modernized facility. The first floor was designed to be publicly accessible, offering a wide range of behavioral and mental health services for families. This area includes multiple therapy offices, a welcoming reception and waiting area, and a specialized Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) room that provides a controlled environment for guided therapeutic sessions.

Upper floors house OKCIC’s operational departments, with improvements aimed at enhancing staff experience and supporting hybrid work models. Renovated break rooms and a fully equipped fitness center with adjacent locker rooms promote wellness, while private offices and hot-desking stations offer flexible workspaces. The top floor features an executive suite with a private restroom and built-in coffee bar, adjacent to a spacious boardroom designed for strategic planning and leadership meetings.

Together, these spaces reflect a thoughtful integration of automation, wellness, and functionality—supporting both the clinical mission and the operational excellence of OKCIC.
