Miles Architecture, an award-winning specialized design firm, is seeking a full-time Project Architect / QA/QC Specialist to join our collaborative team. This role is ideal for a technically strong architect who excels in documentation, coordination, and construction administration while championing quality across all phases of a project.

As a key team member, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and internal staff to deliver thoughtful, high-performing environments. Your creativity, attention to detail, technical expertise, and strong project management skills will be essential in achieving successful outcomes. Responsibilities include producing design documents, coordinating project documentation, participating in meetings, understanding engineering systems, reviewing shop drawings, and contributing to quality control protocols. Ideal candidates will possess 20+ years of experience and demonstrate the ability to lead and manage all technical aspects of projects. Licensing is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

​

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary design team to support integrated project delivery.

  • Produce and coordinate design and construction documents across all phases, from conceptual design through detailed construction documentation.

  • Lead technical execution and oversee the quality and completeness of project documentation, including plans, details, and specifications.

  • Participate in coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.

  • Understand and coordinate engineering systems relevant to each project; research unfamiliar systems as needed.

  • Review shop drawings, submittals, material samples for conformance with design intent and contract documents.

  • Perform construction administration duties, including RFIs, RFPs, field reports, pay applications, bidding support, contractor inquiries, and Change Orders.

  • Contribute to and help advance firm-wide QA/QC standards, protocols, and best practices.

 

Qualifications:

​

  • Professional degree in architecture (BArch, MArch, or equivalent).

  • Architect licensure is preferred, but not required.

  • 20+ years of professional architectural work experience.

  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills (written, verbal, and graphic).

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Newforma, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Familiarity with building codes, specifications, and engineering systems.

  • Attention to visual details.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
